In Search for a Concept...

Barbara Kruger - "Untiltled"
I'm struggling to find a usable concept for the "inspiration" area. Initially I was going to create a flash piece for every person that I interview- but that concept doensn't seem to be conceptual enough.

A possible concept would be to interview and take photographs of random people. Each person would be holding up a card with a response written by him/her. The response will be based on the question: "What inspires you?" I'm using these examples that I found on the internet- because to me, they illustrate interesting ways of juxtapoxing text with images. Somehow I want to use these concepts in the "inspiration" part, along with the photographs rendered to look like silkscreen prints. Anyway, the possibilities are endless now. I want to work with multiples, and create a piece of public art, which would be documented and ultimately housed on my website. I'm not sure how well this would work out, but so far- that's my concept. Here are some images for you to look at. I am in deep hope that this website would reflect me as an artist, and the artists who have influenced my though patterns throughout the years. I will need to make some changes- but it is still in transition. Please be patient with me. I'm trying to work with physical objects- portraying them on the computer screen as objects, however I don't want to run into the problem of it being just too literal- because I want it to convey meaning. So far all I have is the Portfolio area done, because I was certain that I wanted to use the "gallery space" as a means of showing my artworks. I'm still thinking long and hard about both the video, and the inspiration piece. Anyway, I THINK I'm prettty sure about the "inspiration piece", because that's what I've been thinking about for awhile- it's just that I never got a chance to write it in here.

I'm just thinking about the navigation now, and currently I don't think that the navigation is working out really well. I'm hoping that I would be able to use some real objects to replace the cheezy navigation that I have now. I like the way it's laid out- but perhaps because my piece is more visually driven- the navigation should be smaller...
